The land was purchased in Jan 2015. It took another 2 years to get the final building permit approval from the city/county. Wow! 2 years? Yep, had to get impervious cover permits, septic permits, replenish aquafer permits and all other kinds of crazy city/county permits!
The vision was to create a large gallery for local artists to exhibit their work at an economical sustainable rate
We needed to level the area out and brought in over 300 yards of dirt, over half of it was obtained for free (e.g. 'You haul it out, its yours for free!)
Formed the slab base, installed piping for the bathrooms and sink area.
The building is all metal and is an engineering weld up structure. This makes the building non-combustible and safe
Utilized mostly free and recycled wood to frame the interior study walls.
The building was completed in Dec 2021. Because most of the material used was reused or recyclable material, this makes this gallery a green construction structure
The water source for the building is all from rainwater
Soft Opening was held in Jan 2022 to invite artists for their first exhibition and to iron out any business kinks. We had only 14 participating artists at the time.
After refining the exhibits, the Grand Opening was held in May 2022. At this time we had over 2 dozen participating artists.
As of May 2025, we have had over 100 participating artists and over 1000 art pieces on exhibit, making the gallery the largest in the area.
